STAYTON — James Gheer, 75, died Thursday.
(MARION CO.)
Born in Marshfield, he served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a logger and later truck
driver for Weyerhauser, retiring in 1986. He lived in Coos County, Springfield and Woodburn before moving to Stayton seven
years ago. He belonged to Countryside Christian Church in Salem and I.O.O.F., and enjoyed fishing, golfing, camping and painting.
Survivors
include his wife, Carol, whom he married in 1994; daughters, Laurie Cardwell of Salem and Linda Gheer of Portland; stepdaughters,
Cheryl D’Angelo of Central Point and Loretta Walker of Portland; stepsons, E.J. Walker of Stayton and Steve Walker of
Lyons; brothers, Walter of Ontario and Ed of Tenmile; sisters, Sue Adams of Eugene and Patricia Setelia of North Bend; nine
grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Weddle Funeral Home. Interment will
be at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland.

Jesse Gheer Services Set For Monday
Jesse L. GHEER, 78, of Topeka, a resident here
since 1909, died in a Topeka hospital Friday following a short illness. He was born at Meriden, March 19, 1883. Surviving
are three sisters, Mrs. Ona V. TICEHURST, 122 Polk, Mrs. Sylvia CLEMENTS, 817 W. 6th, and Mrs. Eva SCOTT, 230 Wilson; and
a brother, Martin S. GHEER, 215 Polk. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday in the Penwell-Gabel Chapel with burial
in the Meriden Cemetery.
